A human-led realm centered on Axont, Vireldon claims authority across much of eastern Delmara, though that authority is unevenly recognized beyond its settled heartlands.
Axont is a reformation of the Vireldon, who inhabited the valley prior to the Great Deluge and lost much in it.
Vireldon survived the Great Deluge, but with heavy loss of land and people. Its capital had to be rebuilt after the realm lost the valley it once ruled.
Axont is the capital and seat of the Realm of Vireldon.
Illadell predates the Great Deluge and was built on a commanding vista at the upper edge of the valley.
When the Deluge came, only half the city was covered. The evolved and rebuilt city now sits partially atop its own ruins, leaving many tunnels little known or entirely unknown. Some are fully submerged; others can be reached only by small boat or by submersion.
On the water-facing side, Illadell is built atop the ruins in such a way that it appears to float upon the water.
The humans of Delmara, especially within the Realm of Vireldon, have for centuries sought truth by celestial observation. Traditionally, the planetary bodies are correlated to the Veridra, or truth-keepers.
