Klad

Klad is a fort settlement roughly thirty miles north of Lake Imryll, at the fork of the river, home to a human people whose presence is relatively new to the Icena.

The Fort Settlement

Set north of Lake Imryll at the fork of the river, Klad marks one of the newer human presences near the lands of the Icena.

The Klad shown on the Delmara map is the same place as the Klad Settlement shown on the Icena map.

The small bridge and gate-like marks near Klad on the Icena map are map representations and do not indicate separate fortifications.

River Trade

The country between Klad and Icena Village is sparse.

Trade between Illadell and Klad Settlement now often travels by boat. An ox tows the boat upstream toward Illadell, accompanied by Klad, and the ox is often sold upon arrival. The return journey is made downstream.

Reimond

Though early contact between the Icena and the humans was wary and tense, the human leader Reimond slowly worked with the Icena to establish a peaceful and meaningful trade relationship.

Reimond was known to punish and reprimand his own people when they treated the Icena unfairly.

The Name of Klad

The humans did not have a name for themselves. The Icena named them Klad, in reference to the heated stone ore they wore and used for their weapons.
